Last call for submissions for spring issue
January 26, 2009
The spring issue has plenty of poetry and fiction, and now has a featured artist. I had hoped to add a road trip type of experience, not my own (!), that deals with wilderness travels. More essays on any of the beats, related to eco-writings, are also accepted.
The deadline is the last of February, with the issue going up near the end of March.
Marquez bio
January 13, 2009
Just a little update about the newest Marquez bio that I mentioned earlier. I finally got it from the library, but spilled some wine on it so when I went to renew the book had to leave it with them due to some damage (no sticky pages, just wine patterns on the page ends). I have to replace the book, so until I get the book from Amazon, I won’t finish reading it. It is pretty good so far though. I think the best insight the book offers — and this is about halfway through it — is the parallels from Marquez’s own extended family and his novels.
An update on Jack: the new spring issue will probably go up in April. I haven’t quite settled on the art yet, so if you have any photos, sketches, paintings, etc. dealing with ecological themes, send them in!
